It's time to apply for a Neighbourhood Small Grant (NSG)!
The Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) are accepting applications now. If you have an idea that would make a positive impact on your community, you are welcome to apply for a NSG.
Who can apply?
• Grants of up to $500 will be available to anyone living in our program area (our program area to the East is up to HWY #15 and to the South is up to HWY #99 excluding Cloverdale).
• Projects must take place in Surrey
• Registered charity organizations and businesses are not eligible to apply, but small Neighbourhood Groups will be considered.

Before applying please note:
When you got the application website, you will see a number of grants available for applying. Make sure you apply for the right one. Here is the description of each grant:
1- NSG- Regular Neighbourhood Small Grants
2- I-NSG - Small Grants for Indigenous people (first nations, Metis, Inuit)
3- Y-NSG - Small Grants for youth age 13-24
4- LL- NSG -Lighter Living Small Grants are for projects aiming at environment, waste reduction, promoting a lifestyle of re-use- not disposal, organic gardening, and compost.
Tips for a successful application:
1- The project should be open to all and inclusive of all- not a circle of friends.
2- Priority would be given to in-person gatherings and activities, so please avoid Zoom meetings.
3- You can claim honorarium for large gatherings with multiple activities, or multiple training sessions. Claiming honorarium for a small event with limited participants is not recommended.
4- You can give a gift card to a presenter, MC, host, speaker or trainer. Gift cards should not be given to participants.
5- Events should be happening in public spaces with posters and signs up in the area that it is free for everyone. Events in private residences are not acceptable.
6- With the completion of project please send a short report and a few pictures of your event.

- Projects that improves our Neighbourhoods in any possible way
- Projects that use, share and exchange local assets/talents to celebrate cultures in our diverse community
- Projects that provide social gathering and learning opportunities such as cultural events, training workshops, health and well being, inspiring storytelling, art events etc.
- Projects promoting sport and outdoor activities, such as neighbourhood, or school tournaments, yoga and meditation sessions.
